You might have to take this with a grain of salt if you’re not resonating with what I’m talking about here, or writing about rather. But if you are resonating and can make sense out of this, I’m excited for you and invite you to dive deeper into knowing and understanding yourself more and more. If you aren’t resonating that is really okay too, the fact that you are even reading this right now simply means you’re more aware than you think and are open to receiving all that I’m saying (or at least some of it). Be patient, and if it’s unfamiliar or uncomfortable just take a second to look within to understand why.
Whether we are aware or not, we are constantly attracting things to our lives day in and day out, even while we’re asleep! Your subconscious mind doesn’t really take a break. What we think about daily, talk about daily, hear and listen to daily, if it is then fueled with emotion, is programmed into our subconscious mind. If your playlist that you constantly listen to is bombarded with songs about heartbreak don’t be surprised if your relationships aren’t blooming at the moment. Similarly, if you are watching the news daily and are listening and focusing on everything that is negative, then you proceed to talk and discuss with your friends and family about everything that’s going wrong in the world, it’s not surprising if you don’t wake up in the morning with a love for life, or if you feel a bit drained as you start your day.
Similarly, if you hear good news (this is very personal and dependent on what we perceive to be good and bad), and you celebrate and feel that rush of joy and happiness in your body, you’re associating that news and whatever the event/situation that led to this emotion in your body with a positive connotation in your mind which will ultimately be programmed into your subconscious mind. So moving forward, whenever something similar happens or is about to happen (the mere thought of it sometimes really), you have trained your body and mind to already be excited in the anticipation of feeling that joy.
If you take time to look at some beliefs you’ve already formed for yourself for as long as you remember, it may look like the beliefs, “I’m very lucky”, “I’m always late” or “I’m always on time”, “I don’t ever do that (*insert context for yourself)”, etc. These are very subtle but whatever we believe to be true for ourselves is a belief we have formed ourselves (it also doesn’t mean that these believes necessarily have to be true).
“Whatever we believe to be true is true for ourselves”
If you believe you are very lucky and you then expect to win at games or have a positive outcome wherever luck is involved, most likely you do, because you believe you’re lucky and you’ve trained your body and mind to believe it to be true by programming it in your subconscious mind, so it is true for you! The same way, if you believe you’re very unlucky, you’ll have the outcome to reaffirm your belief of being unlucky, as that is what you’ve trained yourself to believe to be true.
In the book, “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy, he explains in detail how your conscious mind is like a watch guard. Whatever the thoughts that come up on your conscious mind, if you accept to be true and allow in, your subconscious mind accepts it fully to be true with no questions asked and immediately runs with it. By running with it I mean that it’ll start executing those ideas and beliefs you’ve let in and attract more circumstances and people into your life that adheres to them. This is incredible for you to create a reality you want, being able to program your subconscious mind, consciously.
The thing is most of the time we are not aware of our thoughts, we are auto-piloting and we aren’t able to differentiate between us (the awareness) and the voice in our mind as two separate things which make us wholeheartedly believe all the thoughts that pop up in our mind. So then what we are doing is, all the thoughts; good or bad (what you want in your life or don’t want in your life) that come up, you start allowing into your subconscious mind. When are living in a sleeping state (unconscious/unaware of our thoughts), if we have already trained ourselves to worry and anticipate a future or live in the past, we’ll be allowing more negative beliefs into our subconscious mind and that is what will be manifesting in your reality. Everything you are worrying about today, or aspects of your life that you’re not fond of, try to see how your thought process is, in regard to them, and I’m sure you’ll get a better understanding of why your reality is the way it is now.
Before I leave you for the week, I urge you to take some time to watch your thoughts. Could be for two minutes or for ten minutes, it’s up to you. Simply let the thoughts come up, don’t judge them, don’t label them, just watch, see it for what it is, and let go and be open to the next thought and the moment. Try to catch yourself when you are thinking or talking about things you don't want (complaining/worrying) and change your focus on to the things you do want. Feel your feet on the ground. Be present. I hope you have a wonderful week! :)
