Whatever happens, happens!

Updated: Dec 6, 2020

For anyone who’s reading this today, who’s had a rough day, a rough week, a month, or a year, let me remind you that for anything to change, it only takes a moment. Even if things seems super bleak with no silver lining in sight, you only need one moment in time for things to turn around. The same way good times may not last, the bad times don’t last either!

We live life in a state of fear being taught to believe that we need to try to plan and control every aspect of our lives. But if you really think about it, we really have no control over what happens in life. We are not aware of what’ll happen in the next few minutes or if we’d wake up another day. We like the illusion of control but we need to understand that whenever we are trying to control an outcome we are operating from a place of fear.

We want control because in order for us to feel safe, we need things to happen a certain way where we feel comfortable. We spend all our lives chasing after a feeling of security trying to attain it through external things only to realise that you can only feel secure within. If your feeling of peace is tied to an external thing, it’s only good as long as you’re able to sustain that external thing that brings you peace. But if you are able to connect to yourself and find that peace and security within, it is no longer dependant on your external reality and you’re truly free, and you are no longer working from a place of fear!

Everything external we are trying to attain or chase after, ultimately is connected to an emotion, a feeling. Why does one want money? If you believe money will enable you to buy materialistic things and have a comfortable life, it’s that you believe that the materialistic things would bring you joy. If you’re pursuing financial freedom, you’re hoping it’ll bring security into your life bringing you a feeling of calm and peace. So in the end, we are still chasing after a feeling of peace, joy, love through pretty much everything we do in our lives.

Anything we are chasing after simply indicates that we are in lack. What we tend to forget is that, what manifests in our physical reality is a mirror of how we’re feeling. So when we think we can relax and be happy once we reach a certain goal, we are always going to be chasing that feeling. We can’t expect to have an incredible life, if we are feeling stressed and miserable about our life right now. We can’t expect to be bombarded with love if we’re feeling fearful and lonely within right now.

We’ve been taught backwards in how to attain a life we want. Maybe that’s why if you look around you, you’ll see more people in your life being in a state of stress than in a state of joy and peace. It’s not about working harder for something, if your innate belief is something that contradicts what you’re trying to achieve. If you believe that money is something you have to work hard for, you’re going to always have to work hard for it. Similarly if you subconsciously believe that you always have enough. You will always have enough.

The moment you’re present, you’re in a calm state where you’re not anxious about the future or holding on to a past. Nothing is wrong in the present moment. You have no problems. In this state you’re not working from a place of fear and lack, you feel at peace and you’re not craving anything external to make you feel good because you already feel amazing! It is this moment that you’ve let go of trying to control and at peace with your current moment, that you are able to allow life to happen to you with no resistance. When you accept life as it is and be open to each moment for life to deliver whatever it may, you are free and you’ll be surprised as to how much life offers you if you just let it!

I urge you to try take maybe a day, start your day with a bit of meditation, bring your awareness into the present moment. Bring that awareness into everything you do. Whatever happens throughout your day, even if something happens not in the way you want, view it for what it is. Try to be mindful of the narrative your ego mind would create and try to observe it without being carried away by your thoughts. Don’t judge what happens or label it to be good or bad. Whatever happens, happens. Let life happen to you and witness how freeing you feel! 😇
